Cheesy toast.

This toast is gluten and dairy free and has a cheese taste. It’s made in the oven and is therefore warm and crispy.

To give the toast a cheesy taste I use nutritional yeast. Nutritional yeast has a nut and cheesy taste, a little like Parmezan cheese. Nutritional yeast is a deactivated yeast and could therefore be used in a candida diet. Nutritional yeast is a good source of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and folic acid.

The nutrional yeast tastes even more like ‘cheese’ if it is not heated. So sprinkle some on top of your pasta or salad.

How to make the cheesy toast

Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius.

Mix the egg with the nutritional yeast. The yeast will give the toast a cheesy taste (a little like parmesan). Use a spoon to spread the mixture on top of the breads. Place the breads on a sheet of baking paper and bake for about 15 minutes in the oven. Then sprinkle the thyme on top of the breads and enjoy with a light green salad a side.
